"I use Doody's Core Titles throughout the year to update our collection. Once the new list is available, the Essential [Purchase] titles are reviewed. Those books that relate to our library are purchased right away.  When our patrons suggest titles…I check to see if it has an expert review and/or Doody's score before I make my decision. Prior to weeding a title that seems old I check to see if it is still current by looking on the Doody's Core Titles. To fill gaps in our collection it is easy to find a title to add by looking at New This Month or the Titles By Specialty. Needless to say, Doody's Core Titles is our main collection development tool.
